Today, I juggled one sick 3-year-old with one very happy almost-2-month-old. It wasn't the most fun, but it worked! I made it work! Woohoo!
Avery was up literally all night long. I think I got a few hours of sleep here and there. It's sad when your 3-year-old keeps you up more than your almost-2-month-old. Anyway, after that awful night, I got up this morning, fed both girls and started to get ready. When I got out of the shower, Avery was whining, saying her body hurt and she couldn't fall asleep. I finally got her to fall asleep (thinking she just needed some rest), but 40 minutes later she was back up, whining and crying again. At that point she wasn't running a fever, but I went ahead and gave her some Advil. I also called the school and let them know I was keeping her home for precautionary measures (I'd hate her to actually have something and give it to someone at school). I'm glad I kept her home because she just had a whiny/crying day today. Not sure if it's the beginning of some allergies/sinuses (running nose, slight cough, and just feeling yucky) or if it was from lack of sleep. She's feeling much better now, so she'll be back to school tomorrow (I hope - and hope we have an easy night of SLEEP tonight!). I kept her in her room or my room the whole day, entertaining herself with toys, books and a few movies. If she had a virus, I wanted to keep her clear from Hadley.
As for Hadley, she is just the happiest little baby on the block! That girl was all smiles today, with barely any tears (not that we have many anyway).
She is also sleeping 7-9 hour stretches at night (I know, right?) and she is just starting to stretch out her feedings from 3 hours during the day to about 4 - 4 1/2. Still eating fast, still growing like a weed (just starting filling out her 3-6 month sleepers!), and still my just happy as a lark little girl.
Andrew had youth tonight, so he was only home from work for about 10 minutes before leaving again. So I really was practically all alone with both girls today.
I think I handled it pretty well. :) Now, when both girls are home sick and I'm dealing with that all day.... well, we'll see how I handle it then. :)
