So, today, we dealt with a little sickness from Avery. Which came like totally out of the blue. Which typically happens to her, if you remember back to our croup ordeal that lead to several nights in the hospital. Started out totally innocent and turned bad - really fast.
Back to today.
Today was Lil Bit's 3 year well child exam. I cannot believe it's already that time. Well, technically it isn't, but I requested to have it early in June because I knew the next few weeks with my weekly appointments and Hadley's soon-to-be-appearance would be too hectic and I didn't want to miss her 3 year well child exam. So, I woke up today knowing I would be going to work, leaving to take Avery to her appointment, going back to work, then leaving to go to my appointment. Well, last night was a rough night with Avery. Not too long ago, we experienced our first restless night due to nightmares. So, when she woke up crying last night, that's what I automatically assumed would be the issue. I got up with her first, then Andrew, then when she cried again, he let her go lay down with him (as I am currently sleeping on the couch for the remainder of this pregnancy). When I went in to wake them, he said she had been tossing and turning all night and she mentioned once that her ear hurt. So i added that to my list of things to ask the doctor (which was fairly short).
I mentioned my few things to the doctor and she checked Avery out and diagnosed her with a double ear infection. :( Poor thing.
I decided to just stay home for the middle of the afternoon to get her prescription and medicine taken care of. And I'm really glad I did, because we weren't home for 30 minutes when she puked. 2 more puking episodes and another bath later, she finally fell asleep before I left for my appointment (around 2:15) and was asleep when I got back (around 4:30). She's been acting much better since then, but I just hate to see her sick! My guess is allergies/sinuses caused the ear infections, and the drainage from that is causing an upset stomach (Mommy suffers from the same thing- I get it really bad like that 1-2 times a year - sorry dear).
I hate dealing with her when she's sick: 1) because who wants to see their child sick? 2) she gets realllly crabby when she's sick and 3) it's really hard cleaning up puke, giving baths, etc. while having contractions. Kneeling on bathroom floors are never fun, let alone when it takes 10 minutes to get back to a standing position. I hope this passes SOON!
